Hi all,I have one of these cheap video cards but with a HDMI output, I have realized that the audio is not sent through the HDMI signal.Please, is there a way to achieve this. Try unplugging the external speakers from your computer. I have to do that to use HDMI nno. I, eventually, wound up plugging my speakers into the front of my machine to make this easier. No problems whatsoever. I did exactly this but without success. Anyway, nothing works on ANY of the HDMI inputs.I should add that this is in Vista.
Was looking in the Device Manager, about to follow your advice fireberd, when I noticed there were no hdmi audio output option quote identical items called High Definition Audio Controller - one of which was disabled. Enabled, fixed. Unbelievable. I think I missed it since I was only looking in the Sound, video and game controllers no hdmi audio output option quote, this was in System Devices.

After upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 RC, there is no HDMI audio out from my HDTV any longer. It can display video, but just no sound. I got Sony Vaio Realtek audio card and Nvidia video card. hxmi can also uninstall that driver and reinstall it. I have download the OEM driver that came with my system from Dell and ran it in compatibility mode as Vista, then as an administrator with no luck. This is a huge drawback to keeping the OS if I am not able to output both audio and video over HDMI as my only monitor I output to is via HDMI. Has anyone else had this issue and found a fix.
